Equality, Diversity & Inclusivity – our commitment

HCCG CIC believes in the dignity of all people and their fundamental right to respect and to equality of opportunity.  We value all the different groups within our society and we are committed to tackling inequality and promoting equality, inclusivity and diversity, both within our own team and through our counselling work.

Our aim is to treat all clients fairly, irrespective of their sex or gender identity, marital or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin or national origin, pregnancy or maternity, culture, religion, age or disability and to uphold the Equality Act 2010.

We acknowledge and accept that unlawful discrimination within our society means that some groups will struggle to access our services.  Therefore, we will, as a CIC, oppose unlawful discrimination and promote actions as a professional counselling organisation, registered with the BACP, that aim to reduce inequality of access to therapy.

We will ensure, as far as we are able, that these disadvantaged groups can have fair access to our services.  We are also committed to training our team to understand the struggles these groups may face.  We also hold the view that it may be necessary for us to develop or create some services, to specifically meet the needs of those groups who struggle to access counselling support within our communities. This forms part of our strategic planning as a Community Interest Company.
